Loving our Neighbors - Serving God

Many people find a connection to God through serving their neighbors.  We definitely believe in that here at EGCC!  There are so many
ways to get involved in making the world a better place - from the food pantry, to visiting the homebound, to youth mission trips and everything in between.  Here are just a few of the ways we give!

EGCC Community Garden

We work locally

We're involved in lots of ways! We host a number of local groups including The Boy Scouts, AA and others.  We also regularly host and provide snacks for the local Red Cross Blood Drives, serve meals at The Immaculate Conception Shelter in Hartford, collect food for and host the East Granby Friend to Friend Food Pantry, and tend our garden which provides produce for those in need.  We dedicate10% of our annual budget to Mission and Service Projects.

Another valuable East Granby Congregational Church provision is our on site Nursery School.  In operation for over 45 years, it is innovative, and a state of the art facility, providing a positive pre-school education along with loads of fun for the children and their families.

We serve nationally

Each summer our Youth head out on a Mission Trip to learn about and serve others.  We also support children and youth to attend Silver Lake summer camp and help families attend our annual retreat weekend in New Hampshire. We raise money for Heifer International and other charitiable organzations who seek to create a more just and sustainable world in the image of God.

We give around the world

Each year at Christmas time we participate in Operation Christmas Child to provide gifts of love for children around the world. We also participate in Pedals for Progress and collect bikes to be distributed globally to those in need. We support a number of carefully vetted organizations that do great work in every region of our Earth.
